Day 2 – Beautiful Buenos Aires

Day 2 – Beautiful Buenos Aires

We landed early in the morning and had a whole day in Buenos Aires!  For some reason, I never got out the real camera today, but I took phone pictures!

Atlas includes a charter flight from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia on the day of the sailing. Plus, one night in a hotel in Buenos Aires the night before.

We waited for everyone else, and Jenn’s luggage didn’t make it. Dang it, Joan!

We were hopeful that Atlas may be able to help, but I knew from my panic searching for alternate flights when I didn’t know if I would make it, that options were limited.

We caught Ubers to the hotel, I think we got scammed on one of them, but we made it!  We met with the Atlas rep and sadly, they confirmed she wouldn’t get her luggage. So shopping for the day it was!

Here is our hotel!

But lunch first!

Our hotel was in a great location. Jenn needed to go shopping for, well everything, and it turns out I forgot pajamas! So she and I walked to a shopping street a few blocks from the hotel.

We struck out for a while because it was Sunday, and so much was closed! But eventually, we found some of what we needed and even a great mall.

We walked for a couple of hours, so we earned dinner! Gautam and Cisco had come in a couple of days before, so they scoped out a steak place for dinner. It was very close to the hotel, and we had a beautiful view of the water while we ate.

They brought out an appetizer of bread and asked if we wanted it. Who says no to bread? Mukta warned us that they were asking if we wanted to pay for it. Gotcha!

Still yes. Dinner was absolutely delicious! Look at my fancy Coke Zero:

At 9:20, we realized we had to be up in six hours, so we walked back to the hotel and went to sleep as quickly as possible.

As much as I love pictures with my real camera, sometimes it is freeing to just leave it bagged and use my phone! Especially since phones have good cameras these days.

You’re right! I love my camera so much, but it’s nice to take a break sometimes!
